Mrs. Hughes would love to meet with you to talk about your classes, applying for scholarships, a personal issue, or just to say hi! Click on my calendar link below to schedule a virtual appointment, phone call or Zoom with me!
From time to time, you may wish to seek an appointment for your child to speak with one of our counselors. If this is about a classroom concern, we recommend that you first make contact with your child's classroom teacher to discuss the issue.
We would love to meet with you and discuss how we can support both you and your child. We encourage you to schedule an appointment with Mrs. Hughes or Mrs. Turnbull by using the links below. This ensures that we are able to meet with you in a timely manner. We look forward to meeting with you!

Healthy Coping Skills
Everyone experiences stress or anxiety from time to time. How we handle it can determine a healthy or unhealthy way of coping. Below is a list of 50 different healthy coping skills for people of all ages! To avoid choosing a negative way of coping, try to ease your stress or anxiety with one of the items listed below. Hello! My name is Carmen Hughes and this is my 12th year as the K-12 School Counselor at Camden-Frontier! I love our small school and am so thankful that I get to work with such awesome students. I am married to my husband Andy and we have two boys--Jack, 11 and Jase, 7. We love to be outside riding go carts, building forts in the woods, or playing catch in the yard with our yellow lab, Maple. I graduated from MSU with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics Education, worked for a local tool & die company for 10 years, and later went on to get my master's degree in School Counseling from Spring Arbor University.
Hello CF Family! My name is Sharon Turnbull and I’m happy to be at Camden-Frontier Schools as a Mental Health Provider. I am here full time, and I am certified to work with all grade levels. I graduated from Siena Heights University and have held a state license in Community Counseling since 2002. I have been in Hillsdale County School Districts since 2003 as a traveling counselor. As a mental health provider, I can offer support and guidance to anyone finding themselves with a stressful situation at school or at home. Confidentiality is extremely important to me, and I want your child/ren to feel they are comfortable talking to me.
I have 4 adult children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 large Newfoundland dogs named Bella and Bailey. I love to be around water, travel and go to concerts, especially if they involve Rick Springfield. Please feel free to email or call me anytime during normal business hours.
